We have a rich and vibrant music program at LUMC, with two primary goals: to make beautiful music and to have as much fun and laughter as possible. Our choir is a wonderfully talented and joyful group. Many who regularly attend LUMC have said that they often find their most sacred moments in our music.

The choir sings an introit to open the Sunday service, offers an anthem to reinforce the main messages of the day, and leads the congregation in singing of hymns and psalms. Our musical selections are derived from a wide variety of sources, including the rich canon of traditional English church music, gospel and contemporary works, and music from around the world.

We are always on the lookout for new choir members! Please contact our Music Director or show up on Thursday if you'd like to give the choir a try.

At LUMC, we also welcome and encourage all members of the congregation, both children and adults, to share their musical gifts. Some of our most special worship services are those in which our youth play piano, cello, violin, flute... you name it. We have some fabulous musicians of all ages!

In addition to our music leadership during worship services, we have been actively involved in musical fellowship in Lexington. For the past six years, we have participated in the Lexington interfaith choral festival. Moreover, we have worked with choirs at Temple Emunah and First Baptist Church to present concerts for the community.
