FAQs

What services are available to non-members?
Membership is not a barrier to any of the services offered by the church. The pastor is ready to provide marriage and funeral services to all persons. This also includes the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. Some counseling may be required before performing weddings or administering baptisms. At the present time the United Methodist Church does not authorize its clergy to perform same-sex marriages, but the pastor is willing to help such interested persons explore alternatives. Baptisms are open to persons of all ages and customarily take place during Sunday worship.

Is the church building available for private functions or rentals?
The building is a shared facility accommodating the needs of two congregations (Anglo and Korean).  It also has a number of regularly scheduled rental groups which use the facility.  This makes for considerable usage. However, the church does provide space when available to groups who would like to use it. Such use must conform to the general policies and principles of the United Methodist Church (e.g, no gambling, no alcohol). The church is also a smoke-free facility. For building use contact the church administrator at 781-861-9301.

What help does the church provide to persons with urgent financial need?
The church offers emergency assistance to persons through the Lexington Interfaith Clergy Association. This is usually in the form of vouchers for food, gas, or overnight lodgings.  Once a person receives aid from one church or synagogue, all the other churches are notified. This is done to discourage those who “make the rounds,” trying to prey upon the good intentions of the religious communities in Lexington. The pastor is willing to help needy persons identify other sources of assistance.
