Exciting new curricula for children and youth!
Godly Play

In the preschool-through-second-grade classroom, students will participate in Godly Play, a Montessori-based curriculum that emphasizes experiential and existential learning. Each story is told with its own wooden and felt props.  Teachers will be Kathy Parks, Becky Linton, and Marylu Bunting with Brian Johnston, Julie Barnette and Louise Kreutziger assisting as door persons.

In the third-through-fifth-grade classroom as well as the junior high classroom, students will study the Whole People of God curriculum. This curriculum follows the lectionary. Lessons emphasize worship, social justice and inclusiveness. Teachers will be Anne Foster, Kurt Gunter, and Keith Herndon for the third through fifth graders and Paul Linton and Jay Morrison for the sixth through eighth graders.

Don’t Forget! The first Sunday of each month is Family Sunday with no Sunday School for pre-school to fifth grade.  All other Sundays, children, pre-school through fifth grade, will have Sunday School during the worship service. Youth classes will meet every Sunday at the 11th hour. A Children’s Church Activity Room will be available for the younger children at the 11th hour.

Calling all High School Youth!
You’re invited to participate in a year-long study of the Bible. Disciple Bible Study helps you relate the Bible to your life as a Christian today. BU School of Theology Student, Erin Beary, will be leading the study Sunday mornings at 11:00. Come for the fun, the friendship, and the challenge of discipleship.

Junior and Senior High Brunch Sunday, September 16
The Junior and Senior High groups are invited to a brunch, September 16, 11:00 a.m. at the parsonage, to kick off their Sunday School year.  Meet teachers, reconnect with friends, and have a good time!

We couldn’t have done it without you!

Thanks so much to all the volunteers who made our Godly Play work-nights such good fun and such a success: Kristina Brown-Brunelle, Marylu Bunting, Audrey Hale, Brian Johnston, Lynda Kramer, Louise Kreutziger, Rae Lavalla, Becky Linton, Susan Morrison, Kathy Parks, and Jean Santelmann. Also thank you to Mark Hawk and Albert Ullman for sharing your woodworking skills.

It’s not too late to help—there are more work sessions to come.  Get in on the fun and fellowship. Watch this space for announcements of date and time.

The Children’s Choir will have its first rehearsal on Sunday, September 16. We will meet each week from 10:30 to 10:55.  All children in kindergarten through grade six are invited. This fall, we will be preparing music for our joint World Communion Service with St. John’s on October 7, All Saints’ Sunday on November 4, and the Christmas pageant on December 16. Contact Becky Linton (blinton@massed.net) with any questions.
