September 2: 13th Sunday after Pentecost
9:20 am Service of Word and Table
Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16 and Luke 14:1, 7-14 are the lectionary readings
for this 13th Sunday after Pentecost. “Gathering at the Table in Love”
will be Rev. Susan’s sermon topic as we gather around the Lord’s table
for holy communion.
September 9: Celebration Sunday

9:30 am Call to Worship.
This Sunday marks the beginning of a new church year. We will celebrate
being a church family as we gather for our first intergenerational service.
The lectionary reading from Jeremiah 18:1-6 will be the focus of our service,
and we will watch a potter “throwing her pots”!! The Sr. Choir will be
back! Sunday school teacher and youth group advisors will be introduced
and we will covenant together for the coming year. A picnic brunch on the
church lawn will follow worship. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and
please bring fruit or a half dozen muffins to share.

she reflects on the lectionary readings from Psalm 14; 1 Timothy 1:12-17
and Luke 15:1-10.
September 23:16th Sunday after Pentecost
9:20 am A Seeking Peace with Justice Sunday* for our 50th Anniversary
year! Marylu Bunting will be our preacher. Her sermon title “Always a Child
in the Temple: Curiosity as a Spiritual Discipline” is based on readings
from Proverbs 8:1-11: 1 Corinthians 13 and Luke 2:41-52.
September 30: 17th Sunday after Pentecost
9:20 am A dramatic reading from the Gospel text, Luke 16:19-31,
will introduce Rev. Susan’s sermon “Do We suffer from Compassion Fatigue?”
Lectionary readings from 1 Timothy 6:6-19 and Psalm 91 will also be shared.
