The All Church Quilt Reflects
the Fabric of Our Family
«This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine»
A large and colorful quilt hangs in the nave of our church.  In the center is a dove with the flame and the cross of the Methodist Church.  More than a hundred candles surround the dove.  Behind each candle is a different fabric.  These squares of fabric were selected by members and family groups and brought forward to be integrated into this amazing piece of art which reflects the beauty of the diversity of our congregation.  Look carefully and you will see young boys and girls, artists, or lovers of the sky, and flowers.  Imagine who has made the selection, and then read the name on the candle.

The quilt could not have come together without the ideas and artistic talents of one very special person, Pat Garland.  Her instruction made it easy for nine of us to help.  What seemed to be 120 random squares were soon organized into a large cross with four corners, light green, yellow, etc.. Thus, as members we form smaller groups within one congregation.  All become united within a border of words:

BY YOUR SPIRIT  MAKE US ONE  ONE WITH EACH OTHER  ONE IN MINISTRY

The All Church Quilt was hung in the sanctuary on Consecration Sunday, November 14, 1999
