| On Sunday, October 14th, in observance of Domestic Violence Month, Rev. Susan delivered a sermon on the issue of domestic violence, and welcomed Elizabeth Parsons from The Support Committee for Battered Women. Elizabeth addressed the issue at the 11th Hour Study. During worship, the congregation was presented with a plaque from The Safe Havens Family Violence Prevention Project, commemorating participation in a 25-hour domestic violence training program (Nov. 2000 May 2001). LUMC is considered a "safe haven" for those involved in any form of domestic violence.
