We
have several new mothers in the congregation this year. So,
to provide fellowship and support for them, we held a New Mothers' Tea
on Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2006. New moms, experienced
moms, and even some grandmothers attended. The grandmothers
expecially enjoyed holding the babies who came with their
moms. While drinking tea and eating some delicious
cookies, there was a sharing of experiences. It was
expecially helpful for moms of more than one child and for those
who also work outside the home. We discovered that the dinners we
provide for new moms and their families are not always as necessary
early on when a grandmother may be there to help. After she
leaves, and especially when Mom goes back to work, may be the best time
to help feed the family. Isn't it nice to know even over time the
problems of motherhood are not unique? It was a most
enjoyable get-together!
