One way that children in Sunday School will be marking the Lenten season is through the lighting of the Christ Candle each week. The Christ Candle reminds us that even in the penitential season of Lent, Jesus the Christ is always with us. One way to mark Lent at home with your child would be to keep a Christ Candle of your own.  You might light it during family meals or to begin each day.

The Godly Play teachers encourage you to read the scriptures our children experience in Godly Play and to engage the children in conversation.

Also, be sure to watch the Christian Ed. Bulletin boards to see the Faces of Easter that the children see in Godly Play during Lent.

As part of Lent, pre-k through fifth grade Sunday School students are taking on a service project. They will be collecting travel size toiletries for local battered women’s shelters. Please bring your extra travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and toothpaste and donate them either by placing them in the box outside the Christian  Ed. Office or by giving them to one of  the students to donate.
