February 3: 4th Sunday after Epiphany -- Service of Word and Table
9:20 am Worship -- Lectionary readings from Micah 6: 1-8; 1 Corinthians 1: 18 – 31; and Matthew 5: 1-12 will inform Rev. Susan’s sermon Blessed are the Upside Down.  Holy Communion will be served.  

February 10:  A Seeking Peace with Justice Sunday -- Focus on "Jubilee"*
9:20 am Worship -- As we continue to recognize significant justice issues that Lexington UMC has addressed during its 50 years, we will welcome Frank D’Alessandro as our guest preacher and worship leader to lead us in a service with Jubilee as its focus.  Frank is a member of the School Street UMC in Gorham, Maine and is a member of the Conference Board of Church and Society where he works on the issue of Jubilee.

THE RESTORATIVE LOVE OF JESUS

February 13: ASH WEDNESDAY
8:00 pm Worship with St. John’s Korean UMC
The lectionary readings from Joel 2:  1-2, 12-17; Psalm 51:  1-17; 2 Corinthians 5: 20b-6:10 and Matthew 6: 1-6, 16 – 21 will be the texts for Rev. Susan’s sermon on Create in me a clean heart and Put a right spirit within me.  Ashes will be distributed and Holy Communion served.

February 17: First Sunday in Lent
9:00 am Holy Communion will be served in the Library.
9:20 am  Worship -- Rev. Susan will begin this Lenten series on The Restorative Love of Jesus by looking at the values and conduct appropriate to life in Christ’s redemptive love as contrasted to the tragic reality of the fall and the resulting cycle of violence.  Lectionary readings from Lent 1, from Genesis 2: 15 –17, 3: 1-7; Psalm 32; Romans 5: 12 – 19; and Matthew 4: 1-11 will be the lessons for this first Sunday of Lent.

February 24: Second Sunday in Lent
9:20 am Worship -- Rev. Landon Lindsay will be welcomed back into the pulpit as part of our 50th Anniversary Celebration as a former pastor of the Lexington UMC community.  He will preach on the lectionary readings from Genesis 12: 1-4a; Romans 4: 1-5, 13-17; and John 3: 1-17.  His sermon topic will be “Is God Reliable?”

* Each month, during this year celebrating Lexington UMC’s 50th Anniversary, a Sunday will be dedicated to a Peace with Justice issue that has been significant in the life of our church community.
